Psychic protection for you, your home and your workplace
Have you ever felt slightly down after listening to someone's troubles or upset by a conversation you had difficulty getting out of your mind? Been drained from someone who is needy or controlling? Ever watched a film that left you with bad feelings you couldn't shake off? Do you work in a sometimes negative, stressful environment, such as a prison or hospital and feel regularly drained of energy?
We are all sensitive to the atmosphere around us to differing levels. Imagine your aura as a magnet that attracts emotions and thoughts (the aura is a personal atmosphere that surrounds each person and all living things). Some of these can be beneficial to this aura, but some can be negative and harmful, leaving you feeling drained. Sometimes we can rid ourselves of this negative energy by focusing on more positive matters.
But if you work in a stressful environment you will regularly collect negative energy which when not released over a period of time, can increase your risk of tiredness, ill health and burn out. This is because when people tell you their problems or are difficult to deal with, negative energy is released both into the atmosphere of the room and into your auric field and when they leave the room the energy remains, causing you to feel drained. This collection of negative energy is like someone repeatedly smoking in your room with the windows closed - pretty soon the room starts to stink.
If your work environment is often stressful or you work with a lot of people, you need psychic protection against negative energy, just as sunblock protects you from the sun and an umbrella protects you from the rain! However giving yourself regular psychic protection is very beneficial no matter what your lifestyle is like and can easily become a part of your daily routine.
Burning aromatherapy oils in an oil burner for the home or office can improve mood and be of therapeutic benefit. Simply put water in the bowl at the top, light the tea light below and add the essential oil to the bowl. Essential oils such as bergamot, chamomile, frankincense and clary sage can help to relieve stress and nervous tension. Basil, jasmine, rosemary and geranium can help to relieve depression. Lavender, neroli and thyme can help to relieve insomnia.
Great ways to cleanse the energy of your office space includes:-
Opening the windows to allow fresh air to circulate;
Placing a bowl of water in the room (water absorbs negative energy. Change daily. Adding a tablespoon of natural sea salt to the bowl of water is even better, as the salt has a cleansing effect). Repeat for one week or as often as needed;
Burning incense in the room;
Placing a lighted candle/tealight in the room (obviously never leave unattended for safety reasons);
Ensure it stays clean and uncluttered.
You can also cleanse the energy of your home environment. Techniques for this includes:-
Keeping positive attitudes;
Ensure it stays clean, uncluttered and regularly aired;
Create a positive atmosphere using scented oils, candles, attractive colours and soothing music;
Avoiding arguments and conflict in your home;
Every morning (or once a week) visualise your home, all the rooms in it and the outside structure being saturated with white light. This has a cleansing as well as protective effect, as white light is an all round colour of protection.
There are many ways to protect yourself psychically. But if you are feeling overly anxious or stressed in any way, first learn to control your breathing. Breathe in for five beats, pause for two beats, then exhale for five beats and repeat until you feel a sense of calm. Then choose a psychic protection method that works best for you.
This can include:-
Exercise (such as yoga, swimming or walking);
Taking a bath (this cleanses the aura. Add a cup of natural sea salt for an additional cleansing effect);
Carrying a crystal in your pocket (smoky quartz absorbs negative energy). For the crystal to work, first charge it with the energy of your intention. For example, say out loud whilst holding the crystal in your hand, "I charge this crystal with protecting me from negative energy" and imagine the energy of your intention going into the crystal. Cleanse your crystal once a week by soaking it overnight into a bowl of water with a tablespoon of natural sea salt. Leave all day out in the sunlight, perhaps on the window sill. As crystals absorb the energy of others, don't let anyone touch your crystal but you;
Develop a regular spiritual practice such as prayer and/or meditation. Meditation is the art of focusing your attention on a sound, object or passive activity and keeping it here. There are many ways to meditate and the benefits are endless, so it may well be worth your while to buy a good book on the subject or take a meditation course to find a meditation technique that suits you best. To gain the long-term benefits of meditation, practice for a minimum of 10 minutes a day.
A great psychic protection technique is to imagine yourself being surrounded by a bubble of white light, covering you from head to toe. Imagine this bubble taking in all of the good energy of others whilst repelling the negative energy. As beforementioned white is a protective colour, so surround yourself with this light whenever you are feeling fearful. Do this technique at the start of your day.
This is a grounding meditation which is great to do to reconnect with your body whenever you find yourself over thinking. It's also great to do whenever you feel anxious, ungrounded or fearful:-
Sit upright, back straight, with your feet firmly on the ground. Imagine that roots are growing out of the soles of your feet and travelling deep into the centre of the earth. Imagine the energy of the roots are continuing to travel from the earth into your body from the soles of your feet to the crown of your head, filling your entire aura. Do this for two minutes.
Thoughts are energy that affect the way we feel, so take responsibility for what you read, talk about, watch on tv or the big screen and what you choose to focus on. If what you're watching, reading or talking about makes you feel anxious in any way, immediately put the book down, change the topic of conversation if you can or walk away from the movie. Better that than having the negative imprint left in your mind.

Get to know your body by paying attention to it and the signals it sends to you. This way, you will know when you need to protect yourself psychically because you will suddenly feel different in your body (for example feeling sudden tension in your stomache).
